Government Expands Mandatory Gold Hallmarking
The Government of India has expanded the mandatory hallmarking of gold jewellery and artefacts by adding
seven new districts in the sixth phase under the Hallmarking Amendment Order 2026.
The new phase came into effect on 2 March 2026.
